What it is
MapChart is a browser-based tool for making custom maps. After choosing a world, continent, country, or other map template, you can color regions, build a legend, and adjust the background, borders, and layout.
Why it is selected
Opening GIS software can be excessive when you only need to show a regional pattern. MapChart puts map selection, grouped coloring, and legends in one editor, so market coverage, travel history, and regional groupings are quick to lay out.

Teachers, researchers, journalists, analysts, and content creators who need a regional map for a presentation, report, lesson, or article.

Usage note
In this review, selecting the ASEAN region on the world map and applying the default red color updated the map and enabled undo. We then added Sample grouping as the title and ASEAN as the legend label. Image export was not tested. The official site says generated maps use the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Published maps must keep the MapChart tag, include a link, or provide a text credit, and follow the license’s share-alike terms.
