Globalping
Run network measurements from distributed probes and compare latency, packet loss, and routes across regions.
What it is
Globalping is a distributed network measurement tool. Its web interface can run ping, traceroute, DNS, MTR, or HTTP checks after you choose a target, location, and probe limit, then show the results returned from each location.
Why it is selected
A ping from your own computer shows only one network vantage point. Globalping can measure the same target from probes in different cities and networks, helping distinguish a local connection issue from a regional problem or an issue at the target service.
Who it suits
Web developers, SREs, and operations teams investigating connectivity to websites, APIs, CDNs, or DNS services.
Useful for
- Comparing latency and packet loss for one domain across different cities
- Switching to traceroute, DNS, MTR, or HTTP when you need to compare routes, resolution, or responses
Usage note
In this review, the default target cdn.jsdelivr.net was pinged from 10 probes selected from World. The results showed each city, ASN, resolved IP address, latency, packet loss, and raw ping output. Traceroute, DNS, MTR, HTTP, the CLI, and the API were not tested. Globalping states that measurement parameters and results are public and may be accessed or published through a measurement ID. Do not include credentials, internal hostnames, or other confidential data in targets, options, or headers.
