World Historical Gazetteer
Browse provenance and rights for historical-place datasets.
What it is
Browse provenance and rights for historical-place datasets. The Senegal Settlements dataset page identifies OCHA/HDX as its source and provides license and record notes.
Why it is selected
Place data are often transformed; provenance and license notes matter before reuse.
Who it suits and when to use it
Useful for historical GIS and place-name matching; review coverage and cleaning notes first.
Usage note
The dataset notes were read; the page says downloads require login, and none was attempted.
